Strategies of
the Superego
The superego tries to amass power in an all-out
survival strategy. To that end it has two primary strategies that perpetuate
pain and suffering. It tries to avoid painful situations or it grasps for things
in the future. All of these strategies actually get the opposite result from
that which is intended. You end up the classic victim. For those strategies only
create more pain and suffering. For what you avoid you get and what you desire
or grasp for you push away.
There is another way. You face and penetrate the
painful situations and they disappear, releasing massive amounts of bound up
energy and stress. And when you know what you want, rather than longing for it,
choose it. There is a distinction between wanting and choosing. When you want
something it is outside of you and unachievable. When you choose something the
feeling of it appears instantly inside you. There is the feeling of an
acceptance and welcoming rather than a longing. You have the feeling that it is
here right now and then it shows up. You saw this happen as a child and then for
some reason you stopped trusting this and started suffering instead.
I have seen people spend a lifetime pushing good things
away from themselves. Whining, complaining, defending, reacting, agreeing,
disagree, getting angry, raging at the world, all survival strategies of the
superego that ultimately perpetuate a story of classic victimhood. It is your
choice, you "just stop." When you face what you avoid it dissolves
into nothing. Stop grasping for things in the future, for you can only make
choices in the present moment. Exercise your most supreme power
"choice" and your life is transformed from disorder, struggle,
suffering, pain and victimhood, to one of peace, synchronicity and love.
The question is how much abundance, love, truth and
peace can you handle? True power is realized through spirit rather than through
any action or power gathering strategy of the intellect. It’s up to you to
just stop telling yourself the stories that perpetuate a lifetime defined by
suffering and pain. I invite you to "just stop." No one can make you
stop it is your choice. It’s your choice to surrender the suffering and open
to a life of ease, abundance, happiness, love and peace.
